Hello! I wanted to make sangria and I did just that the other day for our housewarming + an early birthday party for Luke. Here's my recipe!
Ingredients/What you will need
A 2.8L jug (or whatever you have really) - I used two jugs just because that's what we had
1 x orange
1 x apple
1 x punnet raspberries
1 x lemon
1 x lime
1 bottle of Spanish red wine (I used Rioja)
1 cup French brandy
1 cup Cointreau orange liquor
A whole lotta orange juice (I used about 500ml)
Optional: white sugar or brown sugar (I didn't end up using any), soda water, ice.
Method
Step 1: Cut up and de-pip all your fruits (into wedges), and place with raspberries into jug/s. Push down with a wooden spoon.
Step 2: Add your red wine in (Spanish wine is best but I think you can use any).
Step 3: Add in your French brandy.
Step 4: Add in your orange juice.
Step 5: Add in your Cointreau (or any other orange liquor).
Step 6: Mix with a wooden spoon (softly and slowly). You can add in sugar here if you like but it's not necessary. Once mixed, place into the fridge overnight (8 hours+ for the best results).
Step 7: Once your Sangria has chilled, you can taste it the next day (the flavours from all the fruits will come out). If it needs editing, add in a little bit more OJ.
Step 8: You can serve chilled as is, or top up with a bit of soda water and ice. Enjoy!
Much love,
Ash xoxo
PS: let me know if you make this (it was a crowd favourite here).
I love sangria and I`ll make this drink next weekend. Thank you for sharing cool recipe!
