Mystifying Phenomena That Spark My Interest

Hi friends! I've been trying to focus a lot on Christmas content that I forgot where my real interests lie - with creepy and unsolved mysteries and I've been reading the subreddit /unexplained a bit lately so I thought we could take some inspo from there and look at some mystifying unexplained phenomena that spark my interest! Please enjoy :)

Mystifying Phenomena That Spark My Interest

  • Sheep on a roof - Now, this post is interesting because how on earth did the sheep get on the roof? A farmer had lost a flock of sheep and he found them in the most odd place - the roof. At first, I was kinda convinced that there was some sort of paranormal answer to this one, but then I thought about it a little bit more - did the sheep get startled by something like a sheep dog? How do we know the other side of the house isn't easily accessible for sheep? And then I googled it, and although it's not the same person, a few sheep did manage to get on "this person's" roof and the explanation for that one is that their house was half submerged so a bit easier for the sheep to get up. The most obvious answer is that a person was pranking the original sheep owner (but hey, I'm not a sheep expert).

  • Something from space fell on my farm with an update Suspected Space Junk? I think the video is more weird than the actual thing itself - like is it a meteorite? Or part of one? Because it's quite small OR is it a shell? Someone also commented that it could be fungus (and that it reminds them of a toasted marshmallow). Another comment said that the user frequents a subreddit called /findthesniper, which, from my understand is a place where you put hidden objects in the image and people have to find them SOOOO maybe it's a hoax by OP. What do you think?

  • Blood Falls (Antarctica) - This one isn't from Reddit, but it's basically as it sounds, falls that are red and look like blood is dripping down the iceberg. Is that where they got the inspo for The Thing? This one can be explained though - it's iron oxides.

  • Pink Lakes - just in general, these are cool but also really weird. I wonder what colours shrimp can see.

  • The Bermuda Triangle - A "loose" region between Bermuda, Florida, and Puerto Rico in the North Atlantic Ocean said to be an urban legend of sorts, where lots of ships and aircrafts have gone missing. I think this one has been debunked but it is interesting nonetheless.

  • Feeling death inside a house immediately - my wife and agent thought I was crazy, has to leave - with the information as follows: "Anyone ever get that feeling?

We were house shopping in FL, under the gun to buy a house with timing. We saw 4 houses that day in this was the last one.

It checked every box, bedrooms, location everything, my wife loved it before even seeing it.

As soon as we walked in I felt a strong ominous feeling, I can’t explain it other then death, like a dark, presence.

With 5 minutes I was telling the agent and my wife this can’t work, we have two younger daughters as well.

I either felt like my daughters would die in that house or something really bad would happen. To this day I’ve never felt that.

I’ve been a contractor for 15 years and been in hundreds of houses.

Did anyone every get that feeling?

We didn’t buy the house, I even walked out and walked around the neighborhood. As my wife was thinking I was crazy, came back and it was worse. I had to leave immediately, honestly felt like I was in empty dark hospital waiting for death.

    Just a weird feeling….

Am I crazy??" At first glance, I was like yeah maybe this is something paranormal but then I thought about it a lot more and was like, maybe it was OP's intuition because I feel like a lot of the time, our intuition is looking out for us. Like, maybe if they bought that house, something bad would have happened so it was like his own intuition looking out for him.

  • Frozen Bubbles (Canada) - These ones are just cool, it's bubbles underneath a lake. Of course, there is an explanation for this one though - methane!

  • Texas city shares photo of unidentified entity outside zoo - I am pretty sure this one is a hoax by the zoo BUT it's interesting to speculate, especially as the zoo has never come forward suggesting it was a hoax. Or, maybe a furry? Or maybe someone off their face? Or maybe, it's a random pile of leaves and it looks like a person HAHAH.

  • Rabbit emerges from the ocean - I think the most likely explanation for this one, is that a bird (of prey) picked up the rabbit and then dropped it in the ocean AND yes, rabbits can swim so that explains how it managed to get out of the water, but still a very interesting sight and not something you would expect to see.

  • Disappearances that can't be explained e.g., The Mary Celeste crew, Jimmy Hoffa (although probably m*rdered by the mafia, Frederick Valentich, The Beaumont children, and Maura Murry.

  • Déjà vu - the feeling that you've experienced something before, but have we? There are lots of offered explanations for this one, but it's very odd for sure.

  • The placebo effect - why does it work so well? Why are some people more susceptible to it and others aren't?

  • Cicada 3301 - Like, what was this for? A set of puzzles between 2012 and 2014 posted online aimed at recruiting highly intelligent individuals but I don't actually know if anyone got hired? So weird.

  • Who was John Titor? The username John Titor and TimeTravel_0 were online pseudonyms from a person online between 1998 and 2001 who was claiming to be a time traveller from the year 2036. This was most likely a hoax created by two brothers - a lawyer and a computer scientist, although it hasn't been proven.

  • Random TikTok accounts posting pictures of people sleeping - I've been interested in this mystery for a while, because like why? I just don't get the thrill of it and why are you posting that? Is something more sinister going on? Is it a weird art project like lots of these mysteries turn out to be?

  • The whole smart school boy 9 situation - the whole thing is EFFED up and I don't want to go into detail here, but my favourite YouTuber HannahTheHorrible did a great video on it. You can watch that "here".

  • The Crewe Murders (New Zealand) - A couple were m*rdered on their property in June 1970 and speculation led to the wrongful conviction of Arthur Allan Thomas - a detective had fabricated evidence and placed it at the scene. Thomas was wrongfully convicted, twice! However, the case remains unsolved.

  • The Circleville Letters - I've written about these a few times, but you can check out my blog post "here" if you want to know more!

Thanks for reading!

Hope this wasn't too spooky for you

Much love,

Ash xoxo

Not spooky but I loved reading about mysterious phenomenon. I love that as humans we don't have to explain everything! :)
