Espresso Martini Recipe

Hi friends! Recently I've been experimenting with cocktails because Luke bought us a cocktail shaker set a while back and I'm loving it! I always wanted to learn how to make cocktails and now I am. This recipe is for an espresso martini (it makes 2 servings). It's not perfect, but I like how it turned out! Next time, I will shake it more to get more foam.

Espresso Martini Recipe - by asheycakes

Serves 2 glasses

Ingredients/What You Will Need

  • A cocktail shaker (or jug to shake)

  • Espresso coffee machine (French Press probably works too). I used two standard coffee pods in our machine (then cooled them).

  • 80mL of Kahlua (or you could use other coffee liquours).

  • 80mL of Vodka

  • 40mL of espresso

  • Coffee beans to garnish

Method

Step 1: Make an espresso, then set aside to cool. Coffee machines work best for this as you get the foam on top. I think you might be able to sub in an egg white if you don't have a coffee machine.

Step 2: Once the espresso is cool, add vodka, Kahlua, and espresso into your cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously (as this helps foam it up too) for about 20 seconds.

Step 3: Strain into a glass. Garnish with coffee beans and enjoy :)

Let me know if you made this in the comments below!

Much love,

Ash

We didn't either until we got our coffee machine but it was super easy!

Love this! So glad you're enjoying the shaker! If you're okay with a little sweetness I find a sugar free sweetener (like hazelnut or vanilla) or a little chocolate syrup makes it nice and foamy!

That's a great idea, I'll try some vanilla next time! :)
