Day 7 of "Figuring it Out" - Thankful Thursday

Updated: Sep 25

Good evening friends and fam! It's a late post for me today as I had a big day at work and then caught up with a good friend for dinner after. Happy Thursday! Tomorrow is Fri-yay! Wahoo. I hope you're all looking forward to the weekend. Any exciting plans? I've finally figured out how to change my settings to allow comments from non-members so you should be able to comment on my posts now - this took me WAY too long but I'm teaching myself blogging so cut me some slack ;)

I'm calling today's post Thankful Thursday as this is something I used to do on Instagram every Thursday when I posted more regularly and it seemed to do well + I definitely want to start practicing gratitude more regularly. However, before we get to the Thankful Thursday topics, I just have to have a little whinge to make myself feel better. On my train ride home tonight I had an absolute CRINGE of a moment, I was waiting to get off on the wrong side and the guy at the door just pointed at me to go the other way and I felt so embarrassed like it's been a long day and I am wrecked (it wasn't my normal station and it wasn't very well lit so I was confused) but anyway, I got out and home safely. And the other thing I wanted to talk about was that it's getting to the point where I may have to choose between my job and my health and that's terrifying! I am not looking forward to my IBS symptoms being exacerbated with iron supplements (but hey, getting worse before getting better is nothing new for me).

Anyway, let's get to what I'm grateful for this Thankful Thursday! Today, I am thankful for a lovely partner Luke, my family, my friends, and the delicious ice cream that I had for dessert today. What are you thankful for today?

Tonight I got to have dinner with a friend I haven't seen in awhile, we got some tacos, had some margs, and then got ice cream at Gelato Messina. I had one scoop of Chocolate Fondant and one scoop of Dulche de leche (that I can never remember how to pronounce) and my friend had Strawberries and Cream and a Malt flavour one!

Ice Cream from Richmond

I would give Gelato Messina an 8/10 for deliciousness based on no particular scale (I'll come up with one eventually when Luke and I start our summer ice cream challenge). I have a feeling El Nino being declared in Australia may mean there will be lots of ice cream dates to be had!

Luke and I are also currently watching "Red Dwarf" - a really silly sci fi show that I have seen some of but never watched from the start. If you're after something really silly and need a good laugh, you should definitely check it out!

Luke's also suggested I should write a book - what about, I have no idea. I have a masters degree (so I kinda wrote a book already so I'm sure it would be possible) and I ramble enough. What do ya'll think? Let me know! I'm also open to ideas.

For today's question, I want to know, what is your favourtie sci-fi movie (or book) ? Please let me know in the comments below (non-members can now comment).

My favourite sci fi movie is definitely Arrival and my favourite sci-fi book is probably Foundation by Isaac Asimov.

Anyway it's a late one today so I think I'll end it there! Look forward to seeing you tomorrow for my daily rambles. And be sure to check out my "30 things I want to do before I'm 30" post.

Ka kite!

Much love,

Ash xx
