Kia Ora friends and fam! Happy Tuesday! Melbourne weather today is super sunny and humid, and I've had a pretty productive day so far with some life admin things BUT I'm finally sitting down to write today's blog and it's like 4pm. Last time I looked at the time it was like 1:10pm, so I feel like the day has just gotten away from me. Anyway, this morning I woke up at 4:30am and I have no idea why - maybe a dream woke me up, but I can't quite remember the dream? I also couldn't get back to sleep because I needed to use the bathroom, so I got up and just played Scrabble on my phone for a little bit. I love Scrabble but I loathe the random messages I get on there. It's Scrabble, I'm not a bloody bot and if you keep asking me if I'm there, I'm not going to respond to you. It's kinda toxic if you think about it? Like I don't play Scrabble to make friends, and I really like versing the computer because it gives me a challenge sorta thing. Just don't be weird on Scrabble ok!
Anyway, I lay in bed until Luke woke up and then we got up early and headed out for a morning walk. We saw a few doggos but I struggled a bit with the lack of sleep, and then made some breakfast and got a coffee. After my coffee, I went upstairs to chill out for a bit but I started getting an awful headache and then my stomach was upset really bad again and it's another week of the gastro symptoms (I don't have gastro, it's just the best way to explain the IBS flare-ups caused mainly by the iron at this stage). Anyway, we did our groceries last night (well Luke did them - thanks Luke) and our local grocery store didn't have everything we needed to get so Luke headed out to IGA on his lunch break to grab a few extra things and then my new laptop finally came! I was so excited. I'm very happy because my old laptop just wasn't charging and it was like 7 years old so it was time for a new one. Now, there can't be any massive purchases until 2024 because I'm poor (Christmas time is annoying in that sense where it feels like you're spending lots on yourself). I think I've done most of Luke's Christmas shopping so that's good and the rest can wait till December me thinks.
I've also spent some of the afternoon researching things for my YouTube Channel - which omg, I was not expecting such a positive response. I don't know why I was expecting the negativity or criticism again but I cannot believe that I got like 50 views already and 4 subscribers already. I know it's not much, but I'm really proud of myself and I hope that it continues to do well. I made a joke that I was going to get monetized on YouTube before my blog LOL and Google AdSense keeps saying my blog is low-value content so I guess we'll keep trying until we get there. I think it's something to do with traffic. But ya know what, this stuff is really helping my mental health so I want to keep at it, even if it's just for me. Like I've definitely felt a shift inside where I'm feeling a lot calmer as I know I get to write daily and write just for me. I mean I write for your guys too and love that you read the blogs, but it's pretty cool to be able to do something like this. I really hope that one day soon I can monetize it OR people just start buying my digital prints! That would also be cool. I am just trying to stay positive.
I also spent a bit of time on writing a new guided meditation today, so I'm going to keep drafting that this week and then maybe record it. Eeek, it's so exciting being creative and making content! I think this is definitely something I want to try while my health is not that great. I just want to feel better but living with a chronic health condition has its pros and cons (actually idk what the pros are). I thought I'd lose some weight with all he gastro symptoms, but no, still lots of bloating and whatnot.
Anyway, tonight I really felt like sausages for dinner, so Luke got us some gourmet sausages and I'll cook some veges and potatoes to go with. I always feel like that sorta food the closer it gets to summer.
Have you guys heard of the concept of "glitches in the matrix"? Like basically an event/something that's occurring in the universe that shouldn't be occurring based on the universe's rules (like stemming from the movie The Matrix - about life simulations - anyway). I found myself having one of these myself - I was still logged into word on my old laptop and able to use all it's features and when I transferred it over to the new laptop, it's like "uh oh, you're subscription expired in 2018" and I thought I had alumni access from uni BUT turns out I was wrong so I don't get why it works on my old laptop still but my new one identified LOL no you can't use this any more and I've been seeing a few YouTube videos about this concept too so I thought we'd explore some in today's blog! Especially because the day really got away from me. I'll take a few examples from a range of different platforms. Let's dive right in. TW, some talk about death.
Examples of Glitches in The Matrix You WON'T Believe!
Example 1. I died last night but I'm still here - Taken from Reddit user u/liquidgold83 and found on "Buzzfeed"
"I got a phone call from my next-door neighbor late in the evening asking if I can help him move a mattress into his upstairs. His mom is ill and has a big heavy Sleep Number bed. I ran over to help because they're great neighbors.
I get over there and his friend, who is also a priest, was there to help. I helped them figure out how to separate the mattress from the bed so we could fit it upstairs. We get it all moved up and back in place when my neighbor asks if I can help them move an armoire upstairs too. I think nothing of it and we pull it out of his travel trailer and start bringing it up the front stairs of his house.
This is where I died. The front stairs are 11 steps. I was on the lower end of the armoire about six steps up when my neighbor and his friend lose a handle on the armoire and it comes crashing down on me and I fall backwards towards the pavement...
I then wake up in my dining room to my phone ringing and my wife asking me if I'm going to answer the phone. It's my neighbor asking me if I can help move a bed upstairs for his mom.
I go over there and meet his priest friend again, as this has been the first time I met him. I say I can help with the bed but I cannot help with the armoire. My neighbor was like 'how'd you know about the armoire?' I then proceeded to tell them I'm pretty sure I just died.
I spent the next hour talking with the priest. He had so many questions. My neighbor didn't believe it until I described the upstairs bedroom in perfect detail down to the metal mattress frame on the floor and the intricate headboard leaning against the wall and I had never been upstairs in their house before.
The priest asked me what I saw after I died. I told him I never actually died. Before it happened I woke up at my dining room table."
What do ya'll think of this one? I have a feeling it might be a dream or a false memory but weird how the user described the neighbours' bedroom in full detail. Or could it be an angel warning to say that if they help them out, they're going to die?
Example 2. Ring Camera Catches Glitch in The Matrix - Tik Tok user - alisha.syk
Tik Tok user tessicavision gets tagged a bunch in this Tik Tok video after Alisha's Nan passed away. This one is pretty freaky - does it prove that ghosts exist? What do ya'll think?
Example 3. A compilation Tik Tok - but I'm mainly here for the strawberries - Tik Tok user - hauntedtiktoker.
I can't find the original poster (maybe I can have a better look later) but the first video is really the only one I'm interested in here as the heck, how do the strawberries do that? There has to be some kind of science behind it. The other two videos can probably be explained due to lighting or false memories or past people who have lived in the houses. Let me know what you think about these ones!
Example 4. I can't find the original source but this one is probably just coincidence.
Example 5. Belfast Live - looks like my mum kinda haha!
Example 6. The hotel room shifted beneath us as we slept - taken from Thought Catalog (no.3)
“Was on a road trip with family once. We stayed at a hotel for a night. Our room was nothing more than 2 beds, and a restroom, with a big-ass mirror on across from the beds. Everyone went to sleep but me. I stayed up playing a mobile game I was addicted to at the time. At about 2 AM I went to sleep. When I woke up, I noticed something was just ever so slightly off: The mirror was gone, the room had 2 separate bedrooms, and there were 3 beds. Apparently I was the only one who noticed it because my family called my crazy. Still confused as fuck to this day as to what happened." - Unsure of OG source.
This one probably is a false memory and especially to do with lack of sleep BUT it is kinda interesting to think about. Do you think something like this could happen to you?
Example 7. A weird af chocolate milk one to end on - taken from Tik Tok user blingobong
I kinda thing that this guy is just doing really random sh*t on the internet and seeing what happens (and I'm for it because it's weird) OR it's really cleverly edited. Tell me if I'm wrong.
So there you have it, some examples of glitches in the matrix. Which one was your favourite? And considering I've been working on today's blog for over an hour now, it's time for me to try and get a second walk in for the day and to help my tummy settle a little bit. For today's question, I'm going to keep it on theme, what's a glitch in the matrix that you've personally experienced? Let me know in the comments below. I've explained my one above but if I think of any more, I'll also comment below/edit this post later on.
Anyway, thank you so much for reading today's blog and again, thank you ALL so much for the positive comments about my vlog, I'm so happy that you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for more.
Ka kite,
See you tomorrow!
Much love,
Ash xx
I couldn't give an example like the above, but sometimes I'll experience deja vu in certain scenarios, but I've dreamt the situation happening before it has rather than been in the situation
