Day 42 of "Figuring it Out" - I'm running out of adjectives

Updated: Sep 30

Kia Ora, G'day, Good Evening, Welcome to today's blog post! Melbourne is absolutely FREEZING today like I feel like we should have put the heating on to warm up today because of how cold it feels. It feels more like winter than spring and bloody hell, Melbourne, please warm up soon because I just want to bask in the sun and enjoy the outdoors.

How was your day today? Today was my RDO before my last 3 days of work but I was not feeling very good. I woke up kinda early as Luke had an appointment to go to but I went back to sleep and then eventually woke up and had breakfast. I spent the morning relaxing, then had lunch with Luke on his work lunch break. I decided I'd do my poached eggs and Spinach on toast to see if that would help with my energy levels but after lunch I ended up just feel soooooo dizzy and lying down again. I then fell asleep for a few hours and woke up feeling so disoriented and still quite dizzy. As you can tell, I'm not enjoying all these symptoms going on but we are trying to persevere. I've managed to come down to the lounge while Luke goes to cricket training and chill out for a bit and watch some TV. But I think I'm gonna end up having a super early night tonight as the next 4 days we have a bit on and right now, getting all the rest is something I've got to focus on!

In other news, I found a NZ website that does Christmas jumpers and pyjamas so I've bought Luke and I a matching pyjama set we can wear around Xmas time! We're also tossing up on deciding whether we want to get a big Christmas tree or stick to our little one. I haven't had a proper one in so long so it might be nice. I actually think Luke has put me in charge of that so maybe we can do another Kmart trip in November to see what cheap deals we can get. I love Christmas decor. It makes me so happy. One other thing I'm looking forward to is Christmas Light Hunting around Melbourne - we did that last year and it was so fun to see all the places lit up. It just feels super magical and special even though deep down Christmas is just a massive consumer capitalism scam but we have our fun. Also, who doesn't like presents?

I'm currently sipping on a lemonade while I watch TV to see if that helps me feel less dizzy and having a snack. Hopefully tomorrow I'm not feeling as dizzy. At the moment I'm having a lot more bad days than good days but I have to keep reminding myself that health isn't linear and it will eventually get better.

I'm writing this blog post from my phone again today because I don't want to put my glasses on and stare at my laptop screen. It feels a bit wrong writing on my phone like this but as I said yesterday, it's cool that it's an option. Especially if you end up somewhere and you only have your phone with you. I'm really surprised how I've managed to make a blog post every day for the past 42 days. I'm quite proud of myself actually and it's giving me a little bit more purpose and definitely helping my mental health more than I expected. Writing is so soothing. I think I should definitely write a book. Got no idea what ahout though. I mean I wrote a masters thesis, surely I can write a book too? Let's see what happens in the next few months anyway.

I might end today's blog there so I can rest up a bit more tonight. But for today's question, I want to know what car did you learn to drive in? Let me know in the comments below. Mine was my dad's 1995 Ford Laser Manual with no power steering and then my mum's 1997 Honda Logo Manual (with power steering thankfully). Very happy that as hard as it was to learn Manual, I can do it.

Ka kite!

Much love,

Ash xx

I learnt in Dad’s Toyota Kluger which was amazing on the highway but a nightmare to park. Had one go in a manual and was just awful, but then Mum got a smaller car so that was nice to learn in and finally got my licence after that!
