Day 1 of "Figuring it Out"

Updated: Sep 25

Kia Ora, G'Day, Welcome! How are you going today? Happy Friday! It's day 1 of me figuring out what on earth I am doing with my life and how to get my blog started. I will come up with a posting schedule eventually. It's a work in progress - just like me.

Aren't you glad it's Friday? I would be if I wasn't working this weekend but I digress. Today, I am spending my first night alone since my partner Luke and I moved in together 6 months ago, which is nice to get some alone time (and absolutely healthy in a relationship) but it doesn't stop me from feeling that little bit weird and like where's Luke to share an after-work drink with hehe. Today, I woke up (thank God), had some yummy sourdough toast for breakfast freshly baked by Luke's Dad and an iced coffee, then went for a walk around our neighbourhood, read some of the book I am currently reading about haunted places in Australia, then started work! After work, I went for another walk outside because it's getting closer and closer to daylight savings starting here in Melbourne and I AM SO EXCITED. I love Spring and I love Summer because the sun makes me happy. Although the swooping birds are the park are pretty terrifying.

In the theme of figuring it out, today I also bought a few things off Amazon to help me express my creativity mainly a painting set because this is something I used to really enjoy when I was a little kid and I'd love to give painting a go again as an adult. I've always had moments where I've been super into drawing and writing but I don't think I do it consistently enough so I am trying to inspire myself with this blog and obtaining things that might help me express creativity a bit more.

Currently, I am watching a podcast on YouTube (The Sesh) and I'm about to make myself a yummy cheese toastie for dinner and have a self-care night before waking up and doing it all again tomorrow.

I also really like the idea of asking questions at the end of each blog post to encourage discussion from people on the interwebs! So today's question is: what are your favourite cheese toastie fillings? Let me know in the comments below!

My favourite cheese toastie fillings are ham, cheese (honestly any type but really into gouda/swiss right now), gherkins/pickles, and either wholegrain mustard or sweet chilli sauce as a condiment. Also side note, cheese toastie places who put the YUMMY AF sea salt with their butter are amazing. One favourite place of mine in Melbourne is 'Hector's Deli' in Richmond. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. That's all for today! Ka kite! See you later alligator! Much Love, Ash xx
