Hi friends! Yes, you read the title right and you're probably thinking, um Ashleigh, you're almost 30, aren't you a little old to be answering Teen Vogue's 151 Actually-Interesting Questions? Well, yes and no. I am old, but people seem to be loving these sorts of get to know me posts so please enjoy this one! And, some of these questions are probably more designed for adults anyway.
Feel free to answer some of these in the comments below too!! I'd love to get to know ya'll!
151 "Actually-Interesting" Questions (also some might overlap with my post 73 Questions so check that one out "here" too. Questions were edited to become British English (not American English) for consistency.
What’s your favourite quality about yourself? Least favourite? My favourite quality is my dedication to things and time management skills and my least favourite is my anxiety.
What is something that makes you feel unstoppable? Caffeine.
What three words would you use to describe yourself? Dedicated, intelligent, funny (I hope).
Would you call yourself brave? Sometimes yes and sometimes, no. Like I feel brave when I do something that gives me anxiety and I do enjoy the occasional horror movie, but I still get really scared and don't feel brave at all.
When do you feel the safest? When Luke is at home.
What’s your favourite childhood memory? Hmm maybe playing "Charmed" with my primary school friends OR eating a roll-up for the first time after getting my braces off LOL.
What’s your biggest life regret so far? Probably listening to what other people think of me and not making a YouTube channel or blog earlier than now (I feel like I would have been more successful if I started sooner).
What’s something you’re really bad at? I find this question quite hard because I think naturally we think about things we're good at and then most of us will have the "better than average" effect but I think I'm bad at folding clothes - since living with Luke, he folds like a stay at home mum would and I'm just not as good as he is.
What do you look for when finding new friends? Honesty, humility, loyalty, and people who are funny/want to have deep conversations.
Does your family have any big traditions? Hmm, when I was little, my late Grandma would always make a Easter Egg Hunt on Easter for all the grandkids but it stopped when everyone grew up. Nothing else really sticks out to me.
Do you have any “characters” in your family? Heh, I don't think I can answer this so maybe I'll just say myself.
What’s your favourite nickname someone has given you and how did you get it? I got the nickname "Ashy" in highschool from one of my friends who didn't wanna call me Ash because he thought that was boring. I feel really sad because we're not really friends any more and I thought we were gonna be one of those friends that nothing could come between us. But life moves on.
Are you a good gift giver? I think so, I feel like my gift game is on point (Luke says so). Thanks, Luke.
Who do you admire most and why? In high school, I had two really cool teachers - Mr Hewlett and Mo (Mr Morrison) and I feel like both of them shaped me to be the person I am today. For example, Mr Hewlett (English teacher) encouraged me to write even telling me I should enter a slam poetry competition but I was so scared and didn't and Mo (Social Studies teacher) was just so funny, he would quote all of us students and write our silly sayings on the board - something I do to Luke now AND I feel like I wouldn't have been a sociologist if it weren't for him. I also want to say Mike Grimshaw for supervising me during my masters because he helped me so much and yes, this one I have used people's real names - I think it's okay in this context. I actually don't know if Mr Hewlett and Mo are still with us. I hope so, because they were epic teachers. I was able to find Mo on LinkedIn so looks like he's still kicking but unable to find Hewlett.
